Boards
“For Sale’ boards are an important aid to marketing. They serve to alert neighbours who may know of friends or relatives who could be interested. They also help possible buyers to locate the property for sale. We will normally add a ‘Sold – Subject to Contract’ slip at the appropriate time – this serves to warn people that serious negotiations are in hand but still to get in touch if the property looks to be of particular interest.
The use of boards is covered by the Outdoor Advertising Regulations
which set out the maximum and minimum sizes, heights, time scales, etc. Only a
single board may be erected outside a particular property at any one time. Bear
in mind that you could be prosecuted if you were to allow more than one estate
agency board at the same time. Please ask if you want further more detailed advice.
